Spirit of the Wolves

A place where you can show your creativity and share poems you've written! 

They don't have to be about wolves, they can bee about whatever you like. I'll start off with a couple of mine  

, 

One I wrote in 2012, called "Wolf and I" 

I turn, drawn to the creature behind me

I look through the bars, his eyes burn

Like flickering embers concealed in dark shadow

They look through me, into my heart, my soul.

He watches, as though he is greater than I am.

Who is really the one behind bars? Him- or me?

Man stole his homeland, trapped and killed his brothers,

Carried him captive.

We think we own the world.

But we are bound by our own inhibitions, our own laws,

And held back by what someone else expects us to be.

He is wild, dangerous.

Would kill if if he had the chance.

But I'm not so sure- because

We want the same thing; wolf and I-

To be free....

And my most recent, "knots" from two days ago 

I tied a knot in my hankie,

To remind me of you,

But you didn't tell me

I don't need reminding

Because you come back

Every night, while I'm sleeping

And tie knots in my heart.
